loose fan shroud

Hi Y'all

I was doing some maintenance today and discovered that my fan shroud was loose. I didn't have time to tear into it further today. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me what holds it in place besides the two nuts at the bottom.

I am guessing there is something under the engine shroud that is supposed to retain the alternator?

Rich there is a mount with rubber that mounts the fan shroud to the engine. Kinda like an engine mount. Seen many go bad

Hi John,

Thanks for the info I dis-mounted the fan shroud and found the mount that you were talking about. three out of the four ears were bad. basically the two top ears snapped off and one of the bottom ones then wore through. The second one on the bottom was just worn out of round but not clear through.

I tell you if it is not one thing its another!!!
