Here is my situation.
I experimented with synthetic engine oil (3 changes ago) with bad results. I think that it "cleaned" the inside of the engine, releasing sludge and deposits. Now, I have to change the oil every month (with conventional) because it gets very thin, very black, very quickly. It never used to do this before. It affects the way the truck runs. Every time I change the filter/oil, it immediately starts running perfectly again... until the oil goes black, then it runs poorly.
Is this going to eventually go away or do I have to change my oil every 200 miles for the rest of my life?
Oil contamination?
