gas tank leaking from drain plug

Ive noticed im losing fuel from the drain plug at a rate of about an ounce a day. Its 100% coming from the plug.

I've tried to tighten it, or hell, even loosen it and it wont budge. Is there a trick to sealing it properly?

Should i use heat to break it loose? (kidding

)

Run the Pinzgauer until empty, then pull the plug. I do this annually to get any contaminates and water out, plus it's an opportunity to see if the red sealer is coming off. Replace the copper o-ring and use Teflon tape when re-installing. The leak won't go away on it's own.

Do not use teflon tape!! If you must use thread sealer, use non hardening pipe sealant or liquid teflon sealant sparingly

Teflon tape fragments and gets into the fuel system. I have pulled teflon tape fragments from several fuel pumps
