Fuel injection revisited

Well, my EFI install on my truck is going well and it should be running by tommorrow night

Here's a few of pic's of the progress:

I used the old coil bracket to mount the fuel pump.

Looking good Jim. I see you made that intake manifold see things your way. You mentioned that you were going to run pre and post fuel filter, I take it that cheese-dick

plastic filter is on the suction side of that pump? It was good b.s.ing with you yesterday, I appreciate the tool loan and the tour of your F.I. set up.

I couldn't find a metal 5/16' fuel filter at 11:30 last night anywhere

That will get changed out as soon as I get to Napa(they close at 6pm on sundays)

Nice job Jim.....I'm following all the fuel-injection discussions (both here and elsewhere with interest) as it's going to be one of the first jobs I get onto after I finish my new workshop.
BTW....LOVELY TIG welding on the components!

Wow JIM - what a great job!!

I myself (from Europe) am following this topic very closely and hope that you will come to a fantastic result, maybe even better gas mileage. Your pictures look great too. Here in Europe gasoline prices are starting to become a burden at over $ 5.00/gallon. I might become one of your first customers for this setup - of course I will need the kit as it would be a bit expensive to send the entire Pinz 712 to the USA. Otherwise, I might have the first electric powered Pinz 712.

Great job...

I have chose to mount the injectors for my set up in a different location, much closer to the cylinder head to reduce the effects iof fuel falling from suspension at lower RPM. My injectors are installed into the manifold and there is no fuel rail needed with the weld in adaptors that we have made to allow this.

I have now went through 5 different sizes of plenum and 4 different T/B sizes, the results have been very odd compared to what I have witnessed with other engines I have manipulated with EFI. Its my belief that this is due to the Pinz camshaft particulars with its very tight lobe center lines...

Jim, that looks like a 55 or 60mm T/B- what is it?? Do you know how much volume your plenum has? It will be nice to see some comparisons when I get my system dialed in and fully developed.

Then it's time to start all over again for the 3.3L beast

The Throttle body is 60mm off a ford 4.6L modular engine(92-95 T bird or Lincoln town car). I'll be getting it to the dyno next week as I have the dreaded jury duty the rest of the week
