It has been 100+ here for the last few days and I have noticed it getting over 200 at high speeds. I know the oil cooler is clean as can be. Not worried, just curious. I know that it has been discussed before but it did pop into my mind that the winch might be blocking some of teh air flow...

My oil temps here in AZ have always run 210 except when the temps go over 110. I have seen the oil temp gauge go to 230 at 55mph when cruising the freeways in the afternoon. The temp drops right back down to 210 when exiting the freeway. It has done this since I installed the gauge two years ago.

Im glad to hear that because with this HEAT that is closer to what mine is. The highest I have seen it is 210 going 60. But hey, no worries - the 100's are gone. 95 is the high today!!mjnims wrote:My oil temps here in AZ have always run 210 except when the temps go over 110. This is for a mog but it is the same guage. Just need the sending unit and some wire. Pretty easy install. Got it all from EI.

Oil temp sender location
I had to have a temp sender for the fuel injection. Best place I found was right below the oil pressure switch; the bottom of the cooler/filter unit is where the oil is pumped up from the pan, before cooling. The pressure switch is on the top, which is AFTER the oil cooler.
Not alot of room for the sender I used to fit inside, but by making the threads in the right location (there is a heavy boss in the wall below the pressure switch) and at the right angle it fit fairly well. It is out of harms way, and easy to access for wiring.
Just take the filter/cooler unit off, and it is easy to work on and replace.
Good luck,
Jim M.
