Oil Filter cross number for the U.S.

Post by tokarev »

Been trying to pull up the site with all the cross reference part numbers but it wont load for me - need a cross reference part # for the pinz oil filter - I assume the Fram # on the filter is a good one here in the States.
Thanks

Filter cross ref.

Post by Wayne Roberts »

I have never found a Fram that fits in stock anywhere. I always use the Napa 1768. The local store keeps one in stock for me. Here is a link to a filter cross reference.

Did your distributer ever dry out? I have run a small bead of silicone around the sealing area of the cap and have not had a problem with water since. Glad you made it this weekend.

wet dist cap

Post by tokarev »

Wayne,
Had a good time - to bad its so dry in the green swamp. Once I found the wet cap and sprayed some WD40 in there all is well. I still have to get a long plug socket to tighten the one plug that was loose. I will try the Napa # here and see what they have. Looking under the truck yesterday I found a oil leak running down the right rear tire. Gear oil from the smell - so thats another thing I have to do.

filters

Post by tokarev »

Well I went to NAPA with the numbers (Napa #'s) from the yahoo site and they had all both filters in stock. Kinda pricey but I guess that goes with having the pinz.

tokarev, just noticed you're located near Tampa. My cousin lives nearby & tells me about the Pinzgauers around town, he really would like to have one. We get back there around October everyyear & stay with family in Sarasota.

Jim,
Thanks for the numbers - more options is always good. Went with the larger Napa oil filter.

MANN Filter Qriginal Equipment Oil Filter

Post by hkmp5 »

The original equipment MANN Filter is actually the W940/5. The W940/29 that Jim listed is actually a Porshe filter but will mount and work on the Pinz. The OE filter has the wrench attachment on the end to ease service in the field.
