This seems to be the day for leaking plugs.
I thought that I may have a leaking hub seal but when I inspected the back side to the hub it looked like the oil was leaking from the filler plug and not from the weep hole.
I cleaned up the hub so I could tell where the oil was coming from and sure enough after leaving the truck sit since the weekend it's leaking from the filler plug.
I had drained and refilled the hub and installed a new crush washer when I cleaned up the hub. The leak appears to have started sometime when I was running the Mojave Road a couple of weeks ago. Before that, I hadn't noticed any significant oil leakage.
Any ideas on what could cause this?
What's the torque specification for the hub plugs? Perhaps I just didn't get it tight enough.
Thanks
Bruce
