Mark, Hi I have 33.2*12.50*17 Tires on my truck with no rubbing problems. But I don't have WEAK springs. It is somewhat leaning mexican style.
But I have seen Andys pinz in person and his front springs are worn out. If it was mine I would be worried about braking something in the locker with the wider tires.

I've got 8" wide rims with 291/75R16 BFG ATs, the width of the tire is a hell of a drag on the pavement when turning - it is manditory that I keep them at 60psi on road, just to be able to turn the dang wheel! When I got these rims and tires it was just after SoCal had worked on my truck, and I thought for sure that they screwed up something in the steering, it was that bad. But my W has alot of weight up front on them as well.
Of course, these are fairly "flat" cross section tires. Perhaps something with a rounder cross section would be easier to turn. Just something else to keep in mind.
