Hole filler wanted

Post by pinzinator »

Does anyone have a blank hole filler for the Pinz dash? PM me if you have one to sell.

I took an old non-functioning fuel (IIRC) gauge, removed the guts, and inserted a small calendar cutout of a topless lady. It's always good for a grin. The only thing lacking is backlighting.

( I know, I know, but it's better than an empty hole in the dash.)

If I can find the old plastic plug, I'll give you a shout.

I mounted a voltmeter into the plastic hole filler; but I guess that would be hard to do if you didn't have a hole filler to begin with...

until I mounted my GPS unit in the truck I used the hole for a clock. I found a simple round clock at the department store (think it was $8). Took off the trim and installed it. Worked well and with the separate battery never had to worry about turning the power switch off on the pinz killing the clock.

I like the idea of a voltmeter, I think that's what I'll do instead. Does anyone know which terminal on the switch is battery voltage after the key is turned on? Or does anyone have a recommended place to make the connection to a voltmeter? I can always look at a schematic, too.

GPS unit took care of that also. An oil temp gauge now resides in the hole. Here in the desert with a heavy truck and when pulling a trailer having the temp gauge has worked out well.
