1973 710M

Post by Fentonite »

Looks like it's time to sell my 710M, hopefully I can get another one someday. I figured I'd post it here first, to avoid the headache of Craigslist. Plus, I figure most folks looking here don't need all the details about a Pinz spelled out for them.

It's a basic '73 710M, with the following:
- It has *about* 53,000km / 33,000 miles on it. I say *about* because I replaced the original speedometer when it stopped working (51,870km). I replaced it with new OEM part, now reading 589km. I didn't even have to fill the gas tank after the old one broke, before I replaced it, but there are probably 60-80 miles that weren't on the clock.
-PinzSSI installed, still have the previous pertronix system too (but I don't know why you'd ever go back!).
-SAV exhaust flex coupler and new muffler, installed today. It had been backfiring on deceleration, but this knocked that out almost completely. Much smoother acceleration now too.
-Tuff River Stuff insulated top and matching spare tire cover. There is one hole in the passenger side rear window currently taped up.
-Tires have tons of tread left, no cupping or sidewall damage. The spare is an original Maloya, should be replaced.
-Hella 90/100 watt headlight kit.
-LED taillights and flasher relay, bought but not installed, still new in box.
-re-upholstered front seats, by Andre's guy. Still have originals too.
-Includes the original fuel can and a red aftermarket jerry can. The original needs cleaning.
-Includes original tool kit, 4 tire chains, tow cable, and original jack. The jack needs to be rebuilt, I just haven't taken the time to send it in. I'll include a new bottle jack too.
-Aluminum door panels.
-Newly milled and finished white oak side rails, and will include an additional 4 extra rails (milled, not drilled or finished).

It puffs a bit of smoke when started after sitting, but doesn't smoke after that (I'm told this is normal). I probably add a total of about 2 quarts of oil per year (in addition to oil changes). None of the other fluids (transfer case, trans, hubs) have ever needed any top-off. All mechanicals work as they should.

Pics added. (Maybe I'll update them if I sweep it out and clean it up a bit).

Does $13,500 seem like a fair price?

I'm in Denver, usually available anytime Mon-Thurs. Shoot me a PM if interested.

It's looking like this is sold to a gent in Washington, once the details are sorted out.

It's gone. I drove her up onto the transport truck today (the driver was scared for some reason). Sad to see her go, have serious seller's remorse, but she's going to a good home in Washington, and the new owner is excited. Thanks for the help over the last few years, hopefully I'll be back.
