716 for sale in NM *not mine"

Post by JungleJudah »

I was planning to purchase a 710M from Fat Fabrications last week and a couple of days ago he shared on his facebook this 716 for sale in NM. I was originally thinking to buy a 716 and called the owner to discuss and it seemed good. But I remained with my current plan to buy a 710M (completed purchase yesterday! new 1st time Pinz owner!) and perhaps in the future buy a 716 (although probably won't be able to find one then!). So anyways, here is the 716 for sale and below are notes from my phone call with the owner:

https://santafe.craigslist.org/cto/d/sa ... 38412.html

The 716 in NM has Volvo D24T engine from Atlanta; installed by Linden Engineering in CO.

New transmission from Austria, installed by Executive Automotive in Santa Fe, where he gets regular service.

Why selling? He already has three Land Cruisers and prefers these instead. He doesn't use the Pinz and doesn't like about how it is rough,smelly,noisy,maintenance,...
He mostly only drives it around his backyard sometimes. Did a few road trips. Never taken offroad. He has owned it for 10 years.

Disc brakes all 4 wheels
Power steering factory
Traction system is vacuum operated
12V vehicle, was not used for military, was used Danish light/poles/utility company
Back configuration: 2 seats in back, and then trunk area
Interior is blue
Front seats - new upholstered
Safari rooftop carrier on top
Has a heater but he hasn't checked/used it
Clear title in NM
New suspensions
Gauges fixed and now work
Everything works
Has some spare parts to include

Very rare. I'd get rid of that roof rack and really have something!

I would say you made a wise choice.
If he has not used that Pinz much in 10 years then there will be a lot of maintenance to do (replace hoses, fluids, etc, etc)
Buying a 710M and learning about it with a ton of support (here, Andre, etc) will make it an enjoyable experience vs buying a 716K that almost no one knows about!
Enjoy

JungleJudah,

Your profile photo looks like my first 710m. Is the paint on the windshield frame textured?

Does this guy actually care about selling it? I asked him a few questions many days ago and he wont even return messages. Or maybe he's too rich to care?

Great price .... since it comes with that spare quart of oil .... :)

Thanks for posting and adding details. Looks "like new" and has received a lot of $$ upgrades. Not in my league, tho ......
