Rear step for sale

Post by westernair »

$150 plus shipping. This is a nice step that would cost you over twice this to buy new.

Does it mount to the bumperette mounting points or require custom drilling/tapping?

I'm interested in the former. :)

Mounts to the stock 4 bumper bolts. I had this on my 712 and used it extensively for tour passangers and boy scout possanangers. When building my rear bumper I made an integrated step so I know longer need this one.

This is really heavy duty. The brackets are welded from 1/4" plate. The rest is thick tubing

Well I want it =) but I'm very nervous of shipping costs. Any idea how heavy it is? Dimensions? It would be shipped to 22042

Maybe 35-40 lbs
36x18x8
I would need to make a wood crate so add $10 for crate materials and a couple extra lbs to the weight
Ill ship USPS UPS FED-EX or greyhound bus service.
It would be coming from Tacoma wa 98406.
If you get a quote you are comfortable with let me know.

 shipped a wood create some years back via ups, was charged a premium over what the same size/weight cardboard box would have cost. what I learned was to wrap the outside of the wood create with cardboard (just staple it in place) to avoided the premium. seems they were afraid it would damage the other cardboard boxes when the box handlers throw them around. don't know if they still charge the premium.

USPS Standard Post would be $44 for 40 pounds coast to coast. They usually have the best price on packages up to 70 pounds. My ex inlaws moved from Alaska to Arizona (hows that for a climate change) primarily using the Post Office.

I'd suggest checking with FedEx online. If you sign up, for free, they'll pick up at your house and deliver to the next owner. I shipped several snowcat wheels and tires last year at 60# for less than either UPS or USPS could do. They were surprisingly cheap.

No need to read into it. Ups said $89 for the weight and dimensions. Add in supplies and I'm over $100. I don't think I'm going to find that much variance between shippers.

I can build a very nice step for less than $250. The OP's step is VERY nice. I'd have said yes at a $200 total investment.
