Denis, yes they are beautiful, I'm glad you are having sunshine to enjoy being there. You and Morris have a blast and be safe. Post more pictures when you have the opportunity.

Cheers.

If time permits, you may want to come down to Calico Mogfest next week. You're only 300 miles away. I'm sure it will like rush hour on a Los Angeles freeway with Euro MVs( Mogs, Pinzes, Haffies....Supacat). 8)
I'll be there Thurs in space A23.

Cheers
Dave

Good day all

Well today was a bit sad. Morris had to leave for Denver. We had a great time and he is a man you have to meet, what a gentleman. He taught me several things I didn’t know about desert. I will miss him.

The rest of the day was easy going and we will try to get some reservation for camping on the White Rim tomorrow. Here are some pictures we took.

By the way this is going to be the trip of my life. I think I will stay in the Moab area for some time. I didn’t Know there was so much to do.

Denis, hey that's neat country. Looks like I need to start saving nickels and dimes and start picking up cans from the highway so I can go out there sometime in the near future.

I am happy you like what you have encountered in the US so far. It's not as bad as the media portrays it to be.

Cheers,

I'm getting to find out what real trails are. 8) The scenery is incredible too. I was lucky enough to get the reservation for the White Rim. :D I’m leaving for 3 days tomorrow. I can’t wait to do that trail a 100 miles long.

Thanks for all the good words and you guys have to come here some time the people are great even more than those trails. 8)

moab trip

Post by krick3tt »

Hello to all,
It was so much fun to meet my friends from Quebec, after talking by email for so long. I was having such a good adventure and parting company to continue my trip was a sad moment.
I am in Denver visiting with family and using their computer to see the great photos. Wow we really did see some of the finest country we have.
My thanks to Denis and his girl friend for sending in the photos. When I return home I will have some to share as well.
My thanks also to Wayne and his family, in McCall, for extending to me their hospitality. I felt very welcome, and traveling and meeting such kind people is a great pleasure.
The pinz is with Linden Engineering to have work done. Installing a heater and some engine work, also some seals that are leaking. I may be buying it back from them ;-). I am getting ready for a possible trip to Alaska next year, we are still in the planning stage for that one.

Happy trails to you all,
Morris

Morris, glad to know you too are having a good trip. Lokking forward to your pictures and the Alaska trip should be interesting as well. That's one I've wanted to make, but don't quite have the guts for.

Good day all :D

Morris, it was a sad moment for us too to part with you, we such a good time. 8) If you need a great guy to go on a trip it is Morris. When I get a chance I will burn a CD for you with all of the pictures. By the way Morris, Guylaine is thanking you for your kindness with her along our journey here in Pinzville and for that great water melon of yours. :D :D :D

Andy a trip to Alaska is not too far from your place. The guts will build up with the pleasure will get on the trip. 8) Plus, I might be on the trip so I can help with Pinz maintenance for what it is worth.

We are back from the White Rim Trail. We did it in 3 days. What a nice trip. The first day we slept in Gooseberry campground at 28 miles in the trail. It was fairly easy trail for what I know. What a quiet place it was and so beautiful. The night was filled with stars and the temperature was in the 50s. The next day brought us to Potato Bottom. To get there we had to go thru Murphy’s which I found pretty amazing to do with a trailer at the back. But the Pinz did good and pulled it all the way without loosing a turn of a wheel.
From Potato Bottom it was up the Hardscrabble Pass. Man, I found out the meaning of switch back. I am not use to do trail like that with my trailer. What an amazing territory you guys have or should I say playground.

We are now back in Moab and camping. As I write this I’m having a beer and my girlfriend is enjoying a glass of wine. Tonight the shower will feel so nice after 3 days. 8)

Now, here are some pictures and I will talk to you soon with more adventures.

Denis, I'm envious. That looks like such a neat trip. It's beautiful. There is nothing wrong with an "easy" trail. On some of the ranches here, with all the rocks and holes I cringe when the Pinz lurches. They are tough trucks, but that stuff has to take a toll. Everytime I see a picture of your trailer I like the idea more and more.

Maybe a trip to Moab is in order before I even consider Alaska, but the Alaskan Highway has always been sort of a dream. That would take us up to Jerbear's part of the planet too. Thinking about it at least is free.

At least you are having some temperatures that are somewhat friendly for you. Have fun and be safe.

Denis, are you still in the Moab area? Weather is changing quick up here. Supposed to have a major snow event here this weekend. Highs in the upper 30's (F).

Good day all

Sorry guys and specially you Andy for leaving you so long without news.

I was in the outback as some can say. We did some camping in the mountains and a lot of mountain biking too. The weather was cooler so it was easier on me to do some more out door activities. 8)

We left Moab yesterday and are heading back home. Like Todd said I was able to catch the forecast and decided to move before the bad weather kicks in. Yesterday we drove from Moab to Ogallala. What a ride in a Pinz.

I will try to make it as soon as possible to Quebec; you have to know that the nights are getting colder.

The Pinz is going great and when I get a chance I will post some more pics.

À bientôt :D

David

17 degrees F is – 8 degrees C. At that temperature I usually wear a goat. I do grow some hair on my chest but I’m no bear.

Canadian are warm blood animal too. I know that some times we look strange by some standard but….. :P
