Took my Haflinger Lurch to a night trials

Post by Heinkeljb »

Couple of Videos for people to watch if they want. I missed a gate in both clips even though I had walked the route before tackling them - just goes to show, it's different at night!

The HID head lights I have fitted provide a nice bright light but the cut off is very flat - not much light above the line which is why the camera can't show as much as I can actually see.

Corrected the second link so it should work now.

You really need some off-road lights!

True, but the problem is the lack of power available from a Haflinger Dynastart. Maybe I will look at some "flood light LED's" which I can run instead of the head lights.
It could well be that I don't need the penetration of the HID lights I have fitted when doing night trials. Just an expensive set of extras that might not get used very much as they will not be much use on road.

Went to another trial over the weekend. Here's another short video of the easiest section of the day - I managed to clear it, but some of the others did not as they got stuck in the big hole because they only had 4 wheel drive and no diff locks!

Was a live stream, from a couple of weekends ago when I broke the exhaust system!

5th vehicle to try so quite a way into the video I'm afraid.

Again, was a live stream so lots of waiting before the action.
