Looking for belts for the Haflinger dyna-starter

No luck searching the forums. The markings on my current belt (two) are:

9.5 X 813 La O U Semperit Made in Austria

Hopefully the brain trust here has info on an equivalent, or a resource for the originals.

Many thanks in advance,
Nelson Amen - San Antonio, Texas

Take an old one to any auto parts supplier and they will match it - put the old one on the measure to see what size it is and match.

Replacement belts arrived in the mail. Also purchased what seems to be a good match at auto parts store. I will plan to install both sets in a couple of weeks and let all know about fit and function.

Now ..... if I could only find a hat like that !!!

Wasn't the hat I first noticed :P

That dude should also take some fire arm safety lessons.

FOLLOW-UP ON REPLACING MY DYNA-STARTER BELTS

I had good success with my new belts and have some info to share:

Both the original sized belts from ebay and the auto shop substitutes (photo shows the part number) fit well and were identical on the engine. With both of these options, I found that the belts were just a bit too tight, which meant I needed to add some pulley spacers (those larger thin washers) between the pulley halves to lessen the tension to the correct amount. Not really sure where I might find these washers as there were no spares under the main large retaining nut, which is where I thought they should be stored.

The orange package shown from Home Depot (stainless fender washers) were a match on the O.D. I had to enlarge the I.D. of the SS washers (using a dremel cut-off tool) and they worked perfectly, one per pulley. Now the belt tension is just right, no slippage, and by the time you get the key to the full CW position the engine has started. Sweet. Photo shows new dyna-starter belts installed (now need to find a spare one for that max rpm governer).

So - - you may want to hang on to that USA belt part number and grab a couple, as well as make a few washers when you have the time.

Have fun driving,
Nelson (San Antonio, Texas)
