Haflinger vehicle licensing/registration

Hello to all,

I have recently learned that not everyone seems to have an easy time getting their Haflinger(s) licensed/registerd in their respective state of residence. While some owners choose to use their truck solely for off-pavement use, others would like to have the option to drive their on roads where the limited top speed is not an issue.

Are there any owners out there who have encountered problems in your state and how did you solve your dilemma? I would appreciate hearing back from you if you have any pearls to share.

Take care.

Jim,
No issues with registration here in CA for both of my Haflingers. You can probably influence the choice of different descriptions for body type--mine are both registered as "utility." The people at the DMV here were perplexed as to what they are--here it helps to be nice, patient, and know your vehicle well so you can answer any questions and avoid a mistake that you will later regret.

Cheers,
Greg

I was also able to get registered without much trouble - and that was with lost paperwork.

In CA, you can't really drive off-road (unless it's private property) without a license or green sticker - and it may be easier to license it.
