Hi,
Has any body removed the engine fan & fitted a electric cooling fan instead? any thoughts?

I removed my fan years ago because the viscous coupling was failing.
Installed a 16" fan directly to the back of the air tunnel for max draw, and a thermostat sensor into the radiator to turn it on and off.
I'm thinking to reinstall the fan on a fixed coupling to try and blow more of the hot air out of the engine compartment though..... or at least the bellows to direct the air from the electric fan more.

Like most things I have done, there are pics floating around the web..... somewhere
I'll try to hunt them down..... I don't think even Erik could find them

Hi Dave,

was there any difference to fuel consumption, sound levels etc?and was it as efficient as the viscous unit at cooling?bellows, is that the material tube like thing, what system did you use, over here Kenlow seems to be a popular brand. And finally was it easy to install? Thanks again for your prompt response.

Regards.
