Re: New Member Intro
here are a couple more of the truck. I am new to the Pinzgauer trucks, but overall I think she was a pretty good find in great condition.

Check here for how the RPM module works:
http://www.real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerB ... m.php?f=12
You can disable the module by shorting the middle of the three terminals on one row of the connector harness with the middle of the three terminals in the other row. The module is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, under the dash.

Skipper,
You are pretty much right in the neighborhood compared to most. What rally is it? I am plan to head out to the Steel Soldiers rally in Richloam rally this February. I would love to take a look at the 718 you have, was it one of the GL US Military trucks?

Your 712 looks extremely clean and, as others have already mentioned, welcome to Pinzgauer ownership. I had contemplated a Unimog until I found out about this truck which seemed considerably more "car like" and so more suitable for my regular day to day usage and that has proven to be the case.
As for the TAM...you need to post some photos of that! I saw it on eBay and was shocked when I saw how big it was. Talk about a BIG weird looking truck.

Interesting CB location. I tend to leave the door halves off in the summer or that would be perfect! May look at the right side of the dash.

It is definately BIG.... weird is in the eye of the beholder
When you fold the windshield back into position and add the fiberglass hard top, I really does not differ too much from the looks of many of the military trucks out there. She is alot of fun, but belongs out in open spaces, nnot the highways and byways of Orlando FL!

Yes the 718 was one of the Delta Force trucks, live off of HY 33 south of HY 50 about 12 miles. If you want to take a ride some day, your more than welcome to come out. I am retired so at home most of the time. I have 180 A to play on. I host the Florida Steel Solders Rally in Feburary on my property.

Skipper102, Thanks for the invite, I would will take you up on it. I want to see one of the 718s that I have heard so much about.
Thats a good amount of property to play on, being out where you are I would think its nice rolling hills and such. I will give you a call next week to see if you will be around. Thanks

Re: New Member Intro
My 712 came with the owners manual in english. What is the least expensive option for a repair manual? I have always done the Chilton or Clymer manuals on the Jeeps and the TAM came with a full set of manuals up to the actual rebulding of parts.
Is the only choice a new set of $280 books?

For those asking about the Pinzgauer 712 and TAM 110 BV comparison, here are some pics. I took the TAM out today for a drive... much more of a Truck like experiance, Power steering is nice, but overall the truck has a lot more heft and gearing is a lot lower than on the Pinzie. Here are a few pics. Enjoy!
