Fuel filler tube "bellows"

Post by namtinker »

Gents

So I replaced the hose that connects the fill spout with the fuel tank. This hose and the clamps are then covered by the bellows style seal that fits in the floor behind the passenger seat. Interesting exercise to (say the least) to manipulate this in place, clamp it top and bottom, and keep the bellows out of the way.

A question. What is the method used to seat the bellows seal at the bottom? Push in at one end and rotate?

Thanks

That's exactly how I install them, using copious amounts of lubricant like spray white lithium grease.

Thanks Andre! The grease will also help with the corrosion.
Not that this replacement is done often, but if it was, a jig than braced itself under the filler elbow would be worth the time. Something that "guides" the tip down and keeps it there.

I'll send you a PM on another topic.

Cheers
