To Virginia contacts: The investigative documentary movie I worked on about the water crisis in WV and in Flint MI will be starting its tour in Va. at the end of August. We just had an interview with Chuck Todd (NBC) and finished up the film-festival tour.

Yeah grips, as important as they are, are purely technicians, like most of a production staff. You see those first or larger credits because they are key collaborators/creative people in charge of guiding a project to a certain look/tone. (Production designer, Editor, Cinematographer, Costume, etc.)
The biggest/strongest guys on a set are grips though... they have to move heavy stuff around all day, so you want to pay them well.
