Attaching a GPS to the dash, but how?

Looking for other ideas. I have a plastic disc which a GPS mount screws onto. The dash is nice and flat and made of metal.
Option one: which I'm trying right now, is to use "Museum Wax". I fear it won't be strong enough but was talked into trying. I'm testing to see how it holds up tomr. after letting it set for 24 hours.
Option two: Embed a few rare earth magnets in the disc, held in with epoxy. Researching about them affecting the GPS haven't turned up anything negative yet.
Option three: 3M double-sided mounting tape or pads.
Option four... ?
I'd like to use screws but don't want to mess up a dash that isn't that easy to find a replacement for. I don't want to use a friction mount or suction cups.
