Thinking about a small weather/AM/FM radio

I've been looking at small AM/FM weather alert radios and wondered if anyone else carries one? My CB has weather on it but these little things are cool because they have an alert function that monitors even when it's off which is nice for when you are sleeping.
It might be nice for hikes or going to sleep to the radio with the sleep function too.
I try to be careful about setting up in a wash or near a river, etc.. but when I last went to Utah and camped/parked each night in a new place, I was sometimes near spots that could have flooded with a storm way upstream somewhere. I thought it would be good to have an extra safety like one of these and just for general use while off-road.
(I wish this one had SW as well.)

This one seems cool too but I cant tell if you can leave it in an alert mode so it would wake you when sleeping.
