Anyone into laser cutting?

Post by audiocontr »

I'm giving thought to picking it up as a small side business. I have several artistic items I'd like to create, but I could do dashboards and replacement panels as a small source of income. I'd like to pick your brain.

If just for cutting why not water jet -- it's less expensive operationally as a base-line process.
Unless your looking at a more versitle Laser system that can do cutting, annealing, scribing
and welding?

The scribing and etching were of interest. Not welding at this point. Honestly, I originally posted this question with water cutting. I may go back to that example based on cost as the laser system I like starts at 8k

My focus is on custom dashboards, plates and placards to replace aged units.
