Expedition Imports Acquires EuroTruck’s Parts Operations

Post by ExpeditionImports »

Hi Guys,

Well Andre almost let the cat out of the bag earlier this week!

Vallejo, CA - June 14, 2019 – Expedition Imports is pleased to announce the acquisition of EuroTruck Importers spare parts operations. Distribution will be consolidated at the Expedition Imports facility in Vallejo, CA. There will be a short transition period in mid-late June as the operations are shifted from Oakwood, GA to Vallejo, CA. In addition, Expedition Imports will be bringing on additional qualified Mercedes G and Unimog customer support staff to handle orders and technical support.

The real question is "will we be seeing more G wagons anytime in the near future brought in?" I know the weakening of the dollar makes it more difficult but I wonder what the market here can handle.

A big issue is condition and price on Euro G's these days. People in places like Germany also think they are worth more than they used to. A lot of them have rust too so its very risky to import unless you see it in person, and even then you need to know what to look for. I feel like there's a lot here now and if you have the cash, you can find one pretty easy. Add that CA., which is a major market for interesting cars/4x4's, can't register grey cars anymore without major headaches and money so there's slightly less reason to import them from a business perspective. Luckily if you do get one guys like Scott and Merc. have lots of parts available for a long time to come.

I really have been enjoying the G I purchased from Scott. I am thankful he is going into the G parts business as the local Mercedes shop around here did not want anything to do with mine. The counter guys could not find it in their computer so did not want to waste any time looking up parts.

I once tried a Merc. dealer parts counter and the guy got emotional/angry for no reason and basically ended up yelling at me saying "Those things were never supposed to be imported here!!"
