If I could only search the archive right now I would not be asking this question. What year are Pinzgauers legal for import into CA regarding smoggin in California. Is it 74 and below or 75 and bellow? I already own a 1973 712M and am currently in the market for a 710K. If there is anyone in California or elsewhere with this

information please advise!
Thanks
Bernhard

Thanks Jim,
That is what I thought but I am getting conflicting info. The DMV website says 1975 and older.
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm#BM2536 . Yet the local smog inspection place said 1974 and older. This is confusing.

I found some more info that says 75 and older is cool in CA. I’m picking out a vehicle tomorrow so any info that contradicts what I am saying let me know.
Thanks
Bernhard

The Pinz is considered a "gray market vehicle" and 74 is the newest gray market vehicle allowed in Ca, 75 and older applies to all normal imports(Honda , Toyota, etc.........
If it is already titled in Ca you will be ok, but if you are bringing it into Ca and it is newer than 74, they may refuse to title it for on road use, or charge a $500 smog impact fee
Hope that helps

Very nice picture of the family. Your 712M doesn't look like it has Maloyas. What kind of shoes does it have?
Here in Florida impact fees were deemed unconstitutional around '94-'95. I guess that's not likely in CA.

Hi Russ,
The 712 has Interco 34x10.50-16 LTB's. I love them off road and they ride about the same as the maloyas on the street. I run them at 10 psi off road with no problems I was running them at 8 but lost a bead once. Very strong tires....8 ply bias.

Could you please tell me where you purchased your new toy. I have been looking throughout California and have not seen much privately.
Through Eurotruck has a few basic 710's that would fit the bill for me.

Hello
I'm not sure what you meant by, "privately," but I got mine a Expedition Imports and I think he's got a couple more.
