Afghanistan Pinz pics

Post by jpipes »

My Pinz setup as an Allied special operations support truck as seen in Afghanistan and used by US and British specops units. Photo taken at an event to support US troops overseas.

Interesting,
Why aren't they using the TD version?

They are in great numbers, actually. Far greater than the older models as this one is. This was taken at the Alameda Air Naval Station at an event to support US troops overseas.

Looks a little too clean for me. Nice idea as a recruiting tool though. Throw some mud and scars on that baby.

I do not like this word "bomb." It is not a bomb. It is a device that is exploding. Jacques le Blanc

Your original post implied that the pics were of "in service" Pinzes.

You edited it after my post. The Swiss and Austrian Amries are the only ones with any quantity of gas Pinzes, and I believe the Austrian are the only one with 716/18 P80s ( of any quantity).

I doubt that the Brits have any 716/18s earler than P93, other than conversions of some P90s ( and possibly a few P80s) done by ATL. When I last spoke to ATL a little over 2 years ago, they had no upgrade conversion to the TDI from any of the earlier engines

Right, I edited my post so it did not imply (unintentionally) that it was in service. The truck is my truck and since I can't get my hands on a current issue example it's the next best thing. That being said I'm working it up based on photos and info I have of similar examples that saw service in the Middle East with Allied special operation units.

I like the "traffic calming device" on the passengers side. :)
