Rifle holders

Post by Hawkeye Pinz »

Just a quick question here about the rifle holders in my '73 710. What kind of rifle did the Swiss use in the 70's? My guess would be the FN FAL or the H&K G3. My SKS and Mini 14 will fit in the holders, but it doesn't seem right to carry these rifles in a Pinzgauer  .

The STGW 57 was used from around 1959 until 1990. It was replaced by the SIG 550

How about the K31 carbine?
I realize it is older type, but does it fit?

It might, but if it does it would strictly be a coincidence. The STGW 57 replaced the whole Schmidt Rubin series in use since the 1800's.

I wasn't too familiar with the STGW 57 so I did a little research on it. Pretty impressive rifle. So's the price, about $3,000 from what I've seen :!: . I think I might try my Garand in the Pinz  .
