Diesel Pinz at SEMA

Curious if anyone knows about this 4x4-tour style Pinz? I heard it has a diesel that was well transplanted. The AC unit on the roof is interesting too and was wondering how well it works.
Though yellow on tan with bright wheels isn't the best choice of colors to me.

It may be 4 Wheel and Off Road magazine where I saw a small piece on it, I can't recall right now. It said that this one now has a diesel in it. I've never seen a Pinz engine conversion that was worthwhile but thought maybe this was a first. I don't understand how its being cooled without a bigger air flow area up front. Will the stock tunnel move enough air to cool one of the TDi motors?

But if you make a radiator too thick you won't get the cooling you need at a given point. Fan noise becomes a concern eventually too.
You may just need to see it in the magazine but I don't think they wrote much about it. I just saw mention of the motor and thats what caught my attention.
No, the 303 is not very big actually. It's shorter than a 712, being close to a 710. A 303's size looks like a 710, especially if the 710 lifted weights and ate deep-fried Jeep parts for a few weeks.

Vince, i was talking about the air intake around the radiator. you guys do have a huge advantage there are four pinzgauers in my area and it seems i am the only one willing to use mine as a test subject. so the only alterations i see are from pics. everytime i work in southeast Kansas i am told that there is a un regestered 716 wheni give them my card and askthem to email me pics i never seem to get any. i choose not to put a diesel in mine because most repliedthe same way you just did about cooling. the price seemed way hias well but he's shop is full of hummers waiting for the transplant
If you could get a VW TDI diesel in it I will bet the cooling would be real easy. The radiator in the VW TDI is very small. In all the last eight years of owning one (Golf) I have never had the fans come on. The engine is so thermally efficient that it actually takes quite a few miles to get up to operation temperature. Just a thought...

It was mentioned in Fourwheeler, I was just told. It has the 2.0 VW Tdi. I'm mainly curious if it's a practical conversion or, like 90% of engine conversions out there, if it's just one problem after another.
It was apparently done by Off Road Logic.
