Well look what moved in a few spaces from where I keep my motorhome, 1st there was a WWII or Korean era Jeep with a 1ton trailes, then I go back and this thing is there, to me it sort of has a british ferret look to is, but it appears to be built on a jeep cassis, I opened the door and it has 1 driver seat and a seat in the "turret" mounted up high, the armour looks fairly light about 3/16" or so, no markings of any military fashion likewise no numbers or other markings stamped into it that I could see, so the question is does anybody know what it is, Dave this is the one I was talking to you about yesterday....

I'd say custom made movie prop.

Every impression I get from it is movie prop. it doesn't look like any scout car that I know. The "armour" isn't thick enough...fit and finish is too clean.
Do you have any interior pics?

Dave

Dave no interior pics but am going back monday will take a better cam than my cam/phone and get some at a higher resolution, after we talked and I was poking in it I am getting the impression that it is a movie prop car too, also thinking I will leave a note on it for the owner to get more info.

You are looking at a WW2 vintage Russian armored car. I can provide more info if you wish.

By all means yes anything you have on it would be appreciated, our best guess so far was thats its a hollywood movie prop and a oneoff at that, but if its production, would be cool to know more about it....

Don't need any interior pics, other to identify if it is authentic, or a prop for a movie ( which I still believe it is)...Welded seams appear to clean for something made during wartime USSR and lack "details"..... look to see if the interior is "functional", or fake.

Could it be this?

Check out the blueprints here. Like Dave said, the details don't match up (like the pintle hook), nor does the running gear. The subject vehicle looks like it's built on a jeep chassis.

It reminds me of the "Dragon" Flameshooting armoured car from Octopussy.

It really does look very clean. If it had fender attachments that you could see it would match this one:

Still very cool. Heck it was on running gear very similar to the Jeep.
