Does anyone know if this site is likely to return? Whois shows it is still an active site registration. It would be great to have it back.

Still waiting for an answer on this one. I've tried calling Juergen (no answer) and I just sent an email hoping for a response.

Was anyone smart enough to make a copy of that site?

If you're looking for the parts interchange list. JIM L. Has one on his website. If you haven't looked at his site for a while it's worth a look He has done a lot of work and It has been most helpful to me.

I agree, but it's not quite the same. :(

if its not already common knowledge (i apologize for repeating if it is... i'm just quoting and passing along an old hint from another post by someone else)...
some precious bits may have been preserved at the wayback machine:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://sdp-pinzgauer.org/

hope i'm not stepping on any toes- someone please make me aware if this archive website is not really ok as far as copyright, etc... or the the wishes of the author!. i'm very sorry for posting if it is!- ...just very happy to have this great resource still partially available...

I have been going back and forth with Juergen (the owner of the site) and he says that he has most of the site recovered and that it will be back up in the next couple of weeks.

Let me chime in as the one guilty for not having the site up and running (all excuses but unfortunately true)..........

Since my Pinz was hit by the disaster to be moved to NJ I haven't used it once and haven't even completed the restoration in 6 years. For this reason I haven't paid much attention to Pinz things and didn't recognize that the site went down. It was hosted for free on a server with low importance level. After some struggling it was up again but seems to have failed soon after. The big problem is that at the same time my harddrive crashed and all my backups are packed away since one year as I try to sell my house to move back to lovely Arizona. Over the past 6 months I recovered 95% of the site via fragments I had on another drive and the wayback machine. As of today all what's missing are 2 pictures and I guess nobody will ever recognize that.
To make things worse: during the week I am in Boston, MA w/o my "infrastructure" and on the weekends my family insists that I concentrate on them.........
When I wanted to upload the recovered site I found out that I can't log into the server any more. Have opened a ticket but haven't heard back yet.

As I have no commercial interest connected to the site and it doesn't generate any income for me I can't convince myself to go for paid hosting but I also don't want to host it on one of these services where you get twice as much advertising as content.

I'll try to accelerate the recovery of my account on the current server but as I don't pay I can't bug them to much.

Juergen, I can add it to my site if you are interested as I pay for more space than I currently use. E-mail or PM if interested.

Jim,

thank you for the offer! Unfortunately this would mean parting from the URLand I'd like to keep that as the access to the site. Let me try whether it's possible to restore it where it was.
You might also be shocked when you see the size of the site. It's several MB due to the amount of pictures......

Juergen,
I'm with the rest of the guys and really enjoyed your site. I am also thinking about a move to Arizona. I am so tired of the snow!!! What does your Pinz need to get it running?

Juergen,
An overdue thank you. I think many of us know how much work you put into that site, this site and some of the other work you did in the name of pinzie owners. All unpaid. Will be good to see your site back up AT YOUR CONVENIENCE!

Starting to build vacation time and want to get down to Arizona for one of their outings, so let me know when you make it back to Arizona and then I'll have to try to get there and meet you in person.

FINALLY!

Just came back from Chandler, AZ (hopefully soon my new home) and the SDP-Pinzgauer site is now up again. I know what the problem was and I'm sure that it is fixed.

Please bear with me, I have to do a lot of updates and add all the things I received over the past year from a lot of Pinzgauer owners. As my family lives in NJ and I work in Boston, MA and Chandler, AZ I really don't have much time left to take care of anything hobby (there's something else I have to do I can't mention here).

My promise: it will be done but I just can't tell when..............
