Pretty sure you could just slide an auto into the Volvo without all the other effort and a cleaner package.
As I have a Volvo in my stable along with Pinzgauers, perhaps you could give me some pointers in that direction.

Hi guys! Thanks to Vince I managed to register to this wonderful
Forum.
The Pinzgauer you are talking about is mine.
AZ712DK asked why a Pinzgauer not a Volvo.
You are right a Volvo would be a lot cleaner package.
Well one reason to choose the Pinny over a Volvo is that I
am more an out of the box type of guy.
And the other reason is that I am Austrian and own a few Pinzgauers already.
And the third reason..... well I can't really explain.... this Pinzgauer
was to be salvaged. I just couldn't resist,I had to give her another life.

Made a Pinzgauer into a Volvo without the articulation? If you look at a Volvo 6x6 and this Pinzgauer you have gone a long way around to get an automatic transmission without the durability testing. Pretty sure you could just slide an auto into the Volvo without all the other effort and a cleaner package.

It is always fun to watch people morph their trucks into what they want out of them. It is sad that others choose to mock them and their efforts even as they morph trucks of their own.
I commend any ones efforts as there is always something that can be learned from any attempt to make the trucks different.[/quote]

@wwcommando:
The engine is a good old 180 hp Jeep inline six engine.
Since there was a power steering pump attached to the engine
I chose to make a good use out of it.
It is actually a similar conversion profpinz made. maybe my work is
not as clean as his but the Steering box is a similar G wagon box.
Btw: Thanks for the nice words guys.
