Pics of the completed "spruce-up"

Post by todds112 »

Finally finished my "little" project. Stripped entire truck to metal (by hand  ) primed and painted. Yes it is a rattle can job with the SAV paint. Replaced all the weatherstripping and window channel. Replaced both the small rear panels on either side of the tail-gate with new ones. That was the only rust I found anywhere besides a few small spots on the window frames.

Repired a few cracks and painted the engine cowl. 2 new Unimog mirrors. New rub rails made out of white-oak.

Didn't do anything to the inside, rear. Was going to bed-line, but ran out of funds.

Added a few pine-tree pin-tripes the first outing.

Now the sad part. I'm going to be selling her. Comes down to a financial decision.

It really looks great ! Nice job.

I'm very sorry to hear you're selling it. :( I think you bought your 712 about the same time I got my 710. If I wasn't a little short on funds, I'd buy it. Some lucky guy will get a really nice truck.
