Cost to swap carbs? Anyone have a service?

Post by audiocontr »

I'm getting sick of messing with my carbs when someone with the proper hardware and experience could spend significantly less time with better results. Does anyone offer a service where I pay X for 2 freshly rebuilt carbs, and then send my carbs in as an exchange? I'd like minimal downtime. (Situation with parking and moving vehicles)

Any idea on cost?

With carbs It's not always a bolt on affair, especially with 2. What are your issues?

Cant match the carbs. I have the front idle screw out all the way and the rear in quite far in order to come close.

I think Scott at EI (see banner above) was rebuilding and bench testing carbs.

Jim L. also rebuilds carbs and then mounts them to a test engine for adjustment and fine tuning. He did a pair for me that turned out excellent. Also very reasonable price IMO.

Spoke with Scott, he said to get in touch with Jim. Waiting on a call back from the Guru.
