M-151 Perfection/Benmar Multifuel heater

Post by Thomas-E »

I've read the instructions, fabbed the control box and read all the postings I could find, I'm now ready to drill some holes and mount my heater.

Does anybody with one installed, have any last minute advice??

Any changes that you wish you made? :?

These were the new ones sold on e-bay several years ago.

Thanks!

Hey Tom, I've got the same heater, thou I haven't had the chance to install it. I'd like to see the control box you fabed up for yours. Mine came with one but I haven't figured out how it mounts since mine had no manual. I'll post some pictures of the control box when I go up to the pinz next.

M151 Heater

Miles,

I'm back on four 12 hour work days, I'll try squeeze in some time to get some pics of what I have done, else it will be after Wednesday.

I bought a cast box at an electronics supplier and have fit the switch, circuit breaker and warning lamp into it. I have schematics of the wiring and can make some copies of what I have for you.

If one wants to replace the OEM heater in a K I can help.

I was able to rewire the current relays so it runs with the original controls.

Other mods were also required, that I could help with but I am sorry to say that an install from scratch....sorry.

Had some problems finding all the parts, still have to find the fuel pump and fuel filter that came with the heater. Heres everything else that was included.

Also came with 3 bags of parts.

and control box with wiring

The control box doesn't seem right for this model, but I'm fairly poor with wiring and electronics so I could be wrong.
