Recently became aware of these vehicles and think it would be a nice new venture to get into.
I have searched and read on here the pros and cons of 712 vs 710 . .. I think the 712 will be the vehicle of choice. Parts seem to not be a problem - not exactly able to go to the corner auto parts for most parts, but for the PM stuff it looks easy enough.
So, I am going to start searching more for the actual vehicle now

That being said, if you can't find it, ask. Odds are someone will have insight. There are some seriously hevyweight knowledgeble people here when it comes to how these machines function.
There seem to be alot of pinzgauers in SOCAL. search through some of the older post look at the posters location. there may just be one closer than you think.

Thanks Erik, I had already found some Polish Extreme Unimoggers (heavily modified 404,s). I note that the people you mentioned are German Pinzgauer owners. I suspect that slowly but surely, off roaders from Germany etc will discover the wonderful possibilities for Off Roading in Poland. I am very far over into Poland, much nearer to the Ukraine border so I hope it will be a while before the lanes become too crowded.

Got quite a few picture emails from Kirby...looks like a nice 712.
Have sent a couple emails to others, with no response so far. Anyone out there know anything about the 712's available? I can not go see Kirby's until Mid December.

You would be wise to drive several examples before you pull the trigger. My suggestion is to seriously consider a 712 as they seem to be holding their values better and many 712 owners are former 710 owners but both vehicles are great fun...depends on your needs and budget.
I posed that question (merits of 712 VS 710) on the forum previously and got mostly positive responses and then made the transition.

As I am married to a Polish woman and I intend to live in Poland for the rest of my life, I hope to become naturalised Polish. So I will only be English for a while. We have only found one reference to a Pinzgauer on a Polish site, it is a 710k like ours, but needs a lot of work.....But the owner looks like he is an enthusiats for various off roaders and has the facilities to bring the Pinz to life. I hope there are others, it will help me to register mine if the authorities actually know what it is, insurance likewise. We will be in the Podkarpacie region, I hope you can confirm that I will find lots of places to go off road. The maps all say YES.
