Top dumbest comments about Pinzgauers?
I know that you guys/gals have heard some doozies. Here are some of mine:
- I bet that my Jeep/Land Rover/Hummer will go more places.
- You should really "upgrade" to a V8 engine and solid axles!
- You will never, ever be able to find any parts for that thing.
- Those parts are all the same as old VW's, just more expensive.
- That's one of them amphibious Swedish Panzers right?
- That's not street legal or insurable in the US... is it?
- I bet that those are really unreliable since they're not brand new.
- How fast is it? (like asking a Porsche owner how it does off road)
- Sweet Unimog dude!
- Those rims have the same lug hole pattern as a Toyota.
Feel free to add to this list. I'm sure you've heard some good ones too.

This topic comes up every few years, and I haven't seen any "new" dumb comments come along, but does remind me of a comment a local policeman made to me in a gas station when I had my 710M ( a very long time ago)...quote " I don't believe civilians should be allowed to have vehicles like that". I was asonished that he'd made a comment like that, and had no idea what it was,or it's intended used. Less than 6 months later, another officer from the same department, stopped in the middle of the road (while I was waited for a traffic light) was quite interested and asked me all kinds of questions about my Haflinger ( I would have loved to chat a while, but needed to leave.... I didn't have any title, registration or insurance on it yet
)

Not exactly a dumb one..but...While riding with some friends on a portion of the TAT last week we were going to the top of a mountain, passed a group of bicyclists and one asks "Were you called up here?' Apparently he mistook the white cross Swiss emblem on the front for a SAR ambulance coming to get one of the injured cyclists. I have had people pull over and let me pass thinking I was an ambulance from the military. Very interesting.
Although, most folks sail right by me on the road.

He showed his wealth of knowledge by telling me that it was a Unimog model, or someone had made a kit and suckered me. LOL, it's always nice to be told by someone else that I don't know what kind of car I'm driving.
So why did you tear apart a perfectly good running pinzgauer for?
Okay so maybe that was a valid comment.
Do all the wheels spin?
Love your Gamma Goat.
I didn't know VW made a thinggy truck.
Nice Mog, while starring at the Pinzgauer emblem.

I guess my two best dumb questions are:
Where's the engine? (I point between the seats.)
Does it float? (yeah, but only briefly.)

Actually, it's scary how much a silhouette of a 716K looks like a H2 or H3spandit wrote:Wow, a Hummer!
I suppose it looks similar, aside from the fact that it doesn't have a long bonnet/hood, isn't as wide as a tank and looks nothing like a Hummer
