PinzStink vs MogStink

Post by TechMOGogy »

So I know Mogs but have just started looking into getting a Haflinger or a Pinzgauer.
Question #1 (of many to come): Do Pinzgauers have that wonderful gas smell like gas and desiel Mogs in the cabin?

Thanks!

When I received my 710K the gas fumes were fairly strong in the cab. After rebuilding the carbs, dropping the gas tank to replace the fuel pickup and fuel gauge sending unit gaskets, and replacing the fuel hoses I rarely notice fuel odors in the cab other than those related to start-ups requiring full choke causing rich exhaust fumes during warm-up.

x2
replacing the tank gakets and vapor return line should be done to all Pinz's if they are still original ones

Replacing the old dried out fuel lines and tightening the top half of the carbs took care of my gas odors. Well - the Pinz's gas odors, mine still occur.

I may be mistaken, but perhaps he is referring to the exhaust smell.

He he.....my 1971 Pinzgauer 710K has a very cheap smell in the cab!!!!! it does sometimes smell of diesel when one of the 'leak off' pipes perishes!! but then my 710K is a hybrid.....maybe I should call it a 710KD???? The cheap smell probably comes from the 32MPG 'Imperial' that I get.
