Quick intro from a prospective Pinz owner.

Been lurking on this forum a while, nurturing an increasing fondness of a 712 AMB...

My story so far:
- Live in South Africa
- History of adventure touring using various modes...hitch hiking, bicycle/mountain bike/dual purpose motor bike/Land rover
- Stumbled upon a couple of 712 AMBs three years ago, loved the look and the uniqueness (I think their are the only 712s in the country and were imported from Angola where they served in the military)
- Currently trying to convince myself I should not...and the Missus I should...
- Current owner also needs to be convinced that he needs to sell as well ;)

Either way, have benefitted hugely so far from the site and have enjoyed Miles' restoration thread immensely.

Looking forward to input and will post some pics shortly.

Cheers
Dewald

Welcome Dewald,

No need to convince...if you have been thinking of it for years, you are already convinced. Now to action.
I had a UniMog for years, now a pinz. No regrets, just would like the motor vehicle bureau to stop having me get emissions
test every year. I think that they must feel that any vehicle over five years old is a piece of crap and should not be on the
road. If they only knew.

I will be traveling to somewhere in your area in the not too distant future. My wife won a safari at an auction and we are trying
to decide the best time of year to go.

I'm sure most of the licensing hassles are sorted...being a right-hand drive market the challenges to get vintage LHD on the road is a mission. All paid up though, so one less thing to worry about.

Depending on where you plan to go/how much time you have: drop me a pm for suggestions if required :)
