Towing my Pinz

Any one ever tow their Pinz behind truck/RV? I'm thinking that pulling it behind my Sprinter Van is a way better option than putting it on a trailer to get from Montana to the desert. My main concern is wear on the drive train. Thoughts?

If your main concern is wear on the drivetrain, then I'd get a trailer. Seems to me that trying to turn the portal axles at speed might not be ideal, since you're sort of driving the gearing backwards.

There are a few topics on flat towing with mixed views
Some say no
Others say they have been doing it for years
Here is a link to the forum search "flat tow": search.php?keywords=flat+tow&terms=all& ... mit=Search

I think you'll exceed the tow rating of the Sprinter with a trailer - without a trailer you'll be at or over the limit, depending on the pinz model. That said - I've done it with my 710M with good results on a flat trailer with a 2002 FL 2500 158" wheelbase Sprinter.
