Oils

Post by jacksonpinz »

I ordered my manuals from Cold War almost 2 weeks ago and they have not showed up. I need some info. I know the differentials take 80 wt. How about the transmission, transfer case, and steering box? I also have a small leak in the steering box and was wondering if anyone knew where the leak might be?

All oils are 80/85 wt and GL5 spec.
You do however need GL4 spec or compatible for the gearbox. (or transmission for the yanks amongst us!)

Steering box leaks are either seal on the pitman shaft if it leaves oil on the drive. If it drops out of the floor vent hole by pooling in the floor pan then its the stand tube broken on the underside of the bottom cover plate/and/or a joint leak.

Pitman arm location. Did I read that a Mazda 626 seal will fit?
