And why didn't this whole thing come up while I was there? I need one of those for my G's back door! And are those little pockets i see for the corkscrew?? Damnit.
I made this panel out of ABS recently and mounted that shovel. That table would make a nice addition.

"For those who risk, life has a flavor the protected shall never enjoy"
Vince,
I had the original idea to do a drop-down shelf on the Volvo. When Andre and I got to talking about it, we came up together with the idea to make it into a folding bar. Andre then translated these thoughts to that aesthetically-pleasing and very functional unit you see pictured.
Nice. I had looked into the same thing a while back. Its a popular (basically the same) design to do on the Land Rovers. Lots are made of wood and some get really elaborate. I like this one more though. We had been eyeing some of that euro-pattern plate at the metal shop when doing the bumper... a large black powder-coated piece of it on my hood might be nice for walking on!

I love how you have the bottle of glenlivet and shot glasses set out in proper gentlemanly fashion, then there is an axe mounted just above them. Well played, sir. Well played.
"Whilst I may be out in the wilds there is no need to abandon the finer qualities which one can exhibit through the social grace of a glass of good scotch. However, should the need arise, it is arguably not in bad taste to have an axe handy should you require a honed steel edge to hack something to death."
Always accepting Deposits. A side note. The pockets were designed to accept (6) plastic, 20oz camping flasks. Some padding is required if the stainless flasks are desired.
I finally got to see the bar in person and am quite impressed. I may need to paint it a more subdued color as it does stand out quite dramatically, but I am not in a hurry to change it yet. When I decide how to redo the interior, I'll see what works. Great job, Andre.
