That isn't a 4x4, just a conventional rear wheel drive.
Those early cars weighed about the same as a Haflinger and about the same power
People learn to use what they had, and made the most of them... it was modern technology then

the 1919 dodge was about twice the weight of a Hahlinger ~1275 kg
