Ive searched and can not find wheel stud deminsion/thread
Having wheels built and my Pinz isn't here yet...grrrr. Trail Ready needs to know the stud size and the thread pitch, I'm coming up empty with searches. Can anyone verify this for me please.
Jon
EDIT: verified the size with 2 well known sources.... M14 x 1.5
leaving this for future search

Always be careful if you're ever shopping for lug nuts, 1.5 is not the standard thread for M14.

A 'standard' M14 pitch is M14 x 2, a fine thread is M14 x 1.5.GenevaPinz wrote:Always be careful if you're ever shopping for lug nuts, 1.5 is not the standard thread for M14.
Fine threads in metric are not used much in industrial situations, more common in automotive.

Also, as per this thread, the standard wheel nuts are conical, not tapered. Be sure to use the correct nuts for whatever your wheel builder is making.

Re: Ive searched and can not find wheel stud deminsion/threa
The original lug nuts are "ball" seat type - not conical - or tapered. Same as used on older VW and Porsche cars.
Re: Ive searched and can not find wheel stud deminsion/threa
Lug nuts will be 14mx1.5 and tapered to fit the tapered aftermarket wheels. I will be keeping the ball seat oem lug nuts for the oem wheels.

Vince,
Perhaps this bit of information can get added to the sticky thread about lug nuts? It seems to fit in with that advice.

It'd be best if someone could post a summary of the info you are talking about, in a new post, to that thread so we don't stack more threads up there.
