NO! You don't want to do that! The simple fix is not the right fix.
Take the time to pull the wheel drive, add loctite, and reassemble.
If you don't add the loctite, it'll just happen again. Then the stub axle will be even worse.
Long ago, there were pics of a Red Bull 712 where the axle slipped and the tire hit the body and much damage was done, off-road where it was really a PIA.
Better fix it right.
Given the problem, are the other three axles loctite'd correctly? (Sorry, but somebody had to ask...)

36" pipe wrench and a floor jack are your friends when it comes to rotating the housings. Loosen bolts, put pipe wrench on axle half and use floor jack to move pipe wrench rotating axle to proper location. When you get time take the axle housing off enough to get the locttite on the housing under the clamping area.

I suppose I should jack up in the center somewhat to take
weight and spring force off the tire wheel assembly, then use
a 2'nd jack as the muscle.
Now this all sounds like it just might work !

just let the truck set as is. The jack and wrench will do the work. You do have to loosen the clamping bolts. Again this is a quick fix. You will need to at some point back off the outer housing and get some locktite in place.

Fixed! Luck was with me (for a change).
Removed clamping bolts, removed limit strap bolt,
took some of the coil spring force and truck weight off the Axle.
Wedged in a 3" Stone mason's chisel to spread the C-clamp,
then for grins -- applied force on the chisel handle it moved
I now have proper clearance.
Incidentally these axle bolts were loose, couldn't be more than 60Ft-Lbs
on each nut -- no wonder this moved out of position. Plenty of anti-seize,
and torqued properly now. Checked the other bolts which were fine.
As 4x4pinz pointed out add this to your check-off list during tune-ups.

Remember, Loctite is required between the axle parts...
I don't know if penetrating Loctite is acceptable, or if the axle needs to be removed for proper application of the proper Loctite.

the clearance is pretty tight to try and use a penetrating locttite, besides once you have the clamping bolts loose sliding the axle out 3-4 inches is pretty easy.
To date I don't think there is a single fastener on the pinz that does not get some type of loctite. these little trucks can rattle loose just about any bolt.

Well for now I'm hoping this holds. Taking the wheel drive off or back a few inches
won't be easy for me. For that procedure, the tire has to come off, limit strap and
shock, which also means you have to take the coil spring out. Not impossible but
more complicated. I'd like a pair of the Pinz chassis stands for safety for that
operation.
