Small box with bayonet plug in front of the ignition coil. Upper right of the wind tunnel. Has a 4 wire plug going to it. What does it do?[img][/img]

Voltage regulator, https://expedition-imports.com/voltage- ... n-eic2606/

If it's not connected you must be running with an alternaotr with a built in regulator.

Thanks for your reply. One of the wires, Dark Blue, broke off the connector. The regulator seems to be original. I also see the plug is no longer available at SAV.

Blue is the D+ output from the alternator to the regulator.
If it's not connected your regulator will overdrive the alternator.

You can just replace the connector with individual "FastOn" connectors.
For that wire gauge "Blue" 0.25"will do the trick https://www.amazon.com/Conext-Link-QDVF ... =1-19&th=1

Use a decent crimp tool. https://www.amazon.com/Haisstronica-Ele ... r=1-4&th=1

Electrical has never been my strong suit. I am not sure how old that voltage regulator is but it looks original. 50 years. I think it may be time to replace it also.
Thanks again. I appreciate the info.
