Re: Hub Swivel Balls Losing Their Shine?

Good information! I will look closely at the surface condition where the plating has ablated. Of course the hubs are oil-filled, so when the ball surface goes, all the CV lube goes. So must check for bad cv joints as well.
The 710 in question looks like it was like _never_ maintained. The axle boots ...

Re: Hub Swivel Balls Losing Their Shine?

Thank you, Dave.
There's a 710M for sale here that needs new front housings and probably rear ones to.
Studying the drawings, it appears that the finish on the ball surfaces may not be too critical because they are housings and not fitted drive components They are intended to operate exposed to the ...

Re: Hub Swivel Balls Losing Their Shine?

There is an astounding difference in price between SAV's pricing on these. Is the lower price for _just_ the housing without all the innards and the higher for the unit complete with plugs, twistys and frammus junctions?
There is a ...../30 part and a .....'U' part. What's the difference?

Hub Swivel Balls Losing Their Shine?

Can the hub swivels be removed and re-plated, or is a total replacement in order?

In my marine installation, I mounted a second alternator for the hotel power. I don't know the Pinz layout yet, but an isolated system dedicated to the hotel load and separate from the 24V engine electrics is a very safe way to go. Battery weight is a big problem but (expensive) lithium power packs ...

It looks like we're very much on the same page here. My 712AMB is scheduled to be here (Mexico) early July. I have had very good results with an inverter on my boat, but the entire system is way too heavy what with the batteries (12 x 6VDC 'Golf Cart' @ 62lbs each) for a Pinz install. The alternator ...

Most will be limited to there 35amp Alternator.

...limited to their 35A alternator, buffered by the battery array, potentially supplying hundreds of amps, albeit for a limited time. There are some fantastic inverters out there; way efficient and quite powerful. I saw a MSW that sources 24VDC and ...

I'm a new member and this is my first post, so please bear with me it I come-off awkward but... Any electrical converter or inverter system you install will last longer, run cooler and give you a better long-term experience if you rate it like _way_ over what you think you will ever use. With a ...
