Yet another converter question?
Just put in a 50amp converter from the Solar converter people and optima batteries, 2nd alternator was too much trouble, and its all working fine but was wondering what kind of transient load would the converter and say a radio put on the system is it such you have to turn it off with the truck or only if you leave it for a week or so?
Only from above may they judge my actions below.

Hey bud how are you - I have two converters in mine one for the 12 volt accessories and one for the webasto. I was gone for 3 weeks and my son drove it a few times and then left the switch on. WHen I came back my BRAND new batteriesd were completely drained.....3.5 volts on one and .8 volts on the other. I revived them but it drained it. Best to just shut the switch off or put seperate shutoff switch I think

If you're using equalizers they will drain the batteries whether the main switch is off or not. That's the nature of the beast. If you park outside, leave a solar cell on the roof to top it off, otherwise put on a battery float charger.
Nice thing is that you can solar or float charge at 12 volt when you have an equalizer, no special 24 volt system to deal with.

If you didn't get stuck, you didn't try hard enough.
