Hello to all,
When you look back at the end of your days, what will you say about the summer of 2009? Will it be that you survived the panic of the Swine Flu? Will it be that the economic forecast still had you bummed? Will it be that, once again, the summer flew by in a blur and one day was just like the one before? How can these summer doldrums be avoided? Do what we plan to do. CELEBRATE!!!
In honor of 2009 being the tenth anniversary of Northwest MogFest, we are going to host "The Ten Days of MogFest" (and will have song with lyrics to match). That is right! You read correctly! TEN DAYS!!! Starting Friday, August 14th and running through Sunday, August 23rd, we are going to be pulling out all the stops to make this year's NWMF celebration the biggest and best ever. In years past, we would run a four day gathering on the third weekend in August. That was all well and good but there is only so much fun one can cram into ninety-six hours. With new activities being added each year, it just made sense to expand the number of days..
For those traditionalists, the final four days, the 20th-23rd, will be packed solid with action and mischief. If you could only make one day this year, the biggest/busiest day will be Saturday, August 22nd. For those wanting to arrive earlier than the 20th, mixed in with the fun will be some labor as well. Remember, NWMF has always been and shall remain, a labor of love. The Good Karma points you earn by helping out will be repaid many times over in the future. The last four days of the event will be the most structured ones with the first six having far more flexibility and "hanging-out". As long as the tech equipment holds out, the Waldersee Film Festival will run all ten nights with some of the most obscure and bizarre films ever seen. Ethnic food nights, pot lucks, a chili cook-off, impromptu trail rides into the Trask are just a smattering of the type of activities that will start on Day 1 and run all ten days
For those who either own or just have an interest in vehicles of European ancestry that are not phased by changing terrain, this August will present an unrivalled opportunity to feast and frolic in the friendly festivities that have become Northwest MogFest. Unimogs, Pinzgauers (4x4 and 6x6), Haflingers, VW Syncros, Volvo C-series (4x4 and 6x6), Land Rovers, Range Rovers, French Lohr, Russian Dnepr and Urals, VW Iltis, Swedish Hagglunds, MB G-wagens, VW Typ 181, Hanomag, MB busses, Sprinter Vans and VW Westfalias have been part of our history thus far. Honorary "Euro-Passes" have been awarded to the likes of a Hummer, a US Army Mule, a Mighty Mite, 2WD Rokons, Westcoaster Mailster and a select few domestic and Japanese vehicles on rare occasion. While we can only guess who and what will be here this go 'round, be confident that the spectrum of both people and vehicles will be broad to say the least. A Tatra? An original VW Typ 82 Kubelwagen and/or Typ 166 Schwimmwagen? A Yugo tractor? Lada Nivas? Coots? We will all have to wait and see. Ultimately, it will be up to each of you to decide: do I participate.or watch from the distance? We hope many of you will choose to join in as we celebrate our tenth anniversary. Keep your eyes on the NWMF website http://www.northwestmogfest.com
for details. There will be additional announcements coming over the next six weeks. One early request is to bring any old license plates you would like immortalized on our shop. License plates are going to play a big role this year.
Take care.

This just in...
All,
In case you didnt know, you are all invited to NorthWest MogFest 2009, August 14th through 23rd in sunny Sheridan Oregon!
If you have been living under a rock... NWMF is the largest gathering of european 4x4 vehicles in North America... What started as a gathering of Unimog owners has evolved into a gathering of Syncros, Iltis, Volvo trucks, Pinzgauers, Haflingers, as well as some truly oddball stuff from Lohr, Hanomag, Zweiweg, and other companies you have probably never heard of.
NWMF is held each year on a Century Farm in Oregon's Willamette valley about an hour west of Portland. This is not a traditional "trucks in the mud" gathering, our focus is on providing a laid-back "family reuinion" for owners and their families. In addition to an on-site obstacle course and other wheeling opportunities we also have camping, a river, berries to pick, group meals... Lots of fun, just ask your list-buddies who went last year...
As you may have already heard this is the 10-year anniversary of this yearly gathering of friends, family and cool old trucks, and in honor of that milestone we are inviting people to come early and spend more time enjoying the laid-back character that makes this event unique. We have a few new things planned for this year but primarily this is the same NWMF that you know and love, just more of it. Please join us and help us make this one of the best events ever!
More details abut the event and the RSVP form can be found at this link, please be sure to use the RSVP form, it is important that we know who will be attending this gathering. If you have any questions please contact us via the form on the website.
