tachometer

Post by krick3tt »

I have installed the SAV RPM (tachometer) and it is really curious in its behavior.
At 75 kph it 'floats' between 4300 and 5000 rpm, not very accurate in my opinion. That floating depends on if I am going up or down a hill. I expect that up would require more rpm (but really, 5000?) to keep speed but down is about 4300 to 4800. I have not checked the bulb behind the light at the 4500 rpm danger light but if I am in the 5000 rpm range it 'feels' wierd.
I have petronix upgrade.
Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Morris

tachometer

Post by krick3tt »

...later that same week...
Just an update.
It had been suggested that perhaps the resistor was faulty.
I replaced the resistor, no change in behavior of the tach. Good thought but I am now thinking installing a tach may just be one of those things I have spent money on to no good end.
On the positive side, the pinz is running well. So, I am happy, and... I have a new tachometer.

Cheers,
Morris
