Think Jurgen's SDP site had a listing of insurance companies and what people were calling their vehicles for coverage?

That was one of my projects. Not all insurance companies will insure the same vehicle in different states...... Underwriting is done by state or region, not nationally.
With all the info that had been sent to me, one thing stood out.... AAA in California was the
only state in which AAA did or would insure a Pinzgauer! ( and as far as I know, a Supacat too

).
It has been a few years, but I would like to know if anyone has gotten a Pinz insured with AAA in ANY OTHER state than California.

I am insured with Liberty Mutual. I can't tell you how much I pay a year because it is one bill that covers the Pinz, the Durango, and my big truck.
When I first when to insure the Pinz, the agent was very discouraging. I joke that he started talking like a Wookie from Star Wars. Really, he acted like he was in pain. I finally just asked him to send it to the underwriter. He did, and I had insurance inside 20 minutes. Apparently, the underwriter knows what a cool truck looks like when he sees it.
My Pinz is registered as a pickup truck.

I use Progressive here in Ca. You can go online and use Pinzgauer when applying as it is in the database. If you talk to an agent it is comparable to a LR Seiries type vehicle.

I have to run back into Del Rio tomorrow to see the State Farm rep and sign for the 712. They said it was approved as an antique and I want to say something on the order of about $ 170.00 at signing, but I didn't catch it all. Will try to give details tomorrow.

The difference might be that I have a bunch of vehicles insured with SF and my house. But they did the 712 as an antique/collector (supposedly no mileage restrictions), full coverage, for $160.00 for 6 months.
